FIELD NOTES / FACE MEASUREMENTS

Explore style with your features

Use measurements as prompts for experimentation, while keeping your own preferences central.

AI-assisted product documentation, checked against our published method and the technical sources below. Diagrams and worked numbers are illustrative, not personal test results or a clinical review.

Style exploration illustration. Only the framing changes; the drawing does not predict a makeover, hair texture or a score increase.

Choose one experiment at a time

Start with a practical choice you can comfortably reverse: a different hair part, the amount of hair framing the face, or a familiar accessory. A measurement can suggest a question to explore, but it cannot determine your taste, hair texture, lifestyle or preferred presentation. Compare a small number of options in consistent photographs instead of assuming that every reference mismatch needs to be corrected.

Keep evidence and suggestions separate

A proportion is a measured relationship between points. A statement about which hairstyle may feel balanced is a styling suggestion. Those are different levels of evidence. Our future report workflow is designed to link observations to returned fields and to label suggestions as options. The local score alone cannot establish a personal color season, skin condition or hair type, because those attributes are not measured by its geometry.

Judge the option by your experience

Consider comfort, maintenance, daily routine and whether you like the result. A generated preview, when available, illustrates a possible appearance; it does not predict a physical change or guarantee that a style will work with your hair. Keep the options that help you express yourself. It is also a valid result to decide that your current style already suits your needs and that no change is necessary.

Turn a reading into a small, reversible question

A face measurement can organize an experiment, but it cannot choose a personal style for you. Start with something you already want to explore. Keep the experiment small enough that you can compare the options without paying for a service or changing your body.

  1. Choose a question you care about, such as whether a different hair part feels more comfortable or makes the eyes easier to see.
  2. Pick two options rather than a large makeover list. Change one feature, such as the amount of hair around the cheeks, and keep other choices stable.
  3. Photograph both options with similar camera position, distance, light and expression. Do not compare a filtered selfie with an unfiltered portrait.
  4. Write down your own preferences before looking at a score. Comfort, upkeep and personal expression are useful outcomes the geometric model does not measure.
  5. Keep the option that fits your routine, or keep the original. A score difference does not override whether you like living with the style.

An option card you can copy

The example below is a blank decision pattern expressed with hypothetical options. It is not a recommendation for a particular face shape. You can replace the hair-part question with glasses you already own, a familiar accessory or a portrait framing choice, provided the comparison remains comfortable and reversible.

For example, you might prefer B because it stays out of your eyes, while preferring A in a portrait. Both observations can be valid. If hair covers different landmarks, a changed reading may reflect visibility rather than improved proportions. A style trial should answer your chosen question, not become a search for the highest number.

Keep observations separate from suggestions

  1. Write observations as visible statements: the eyes are more exposed, the outline is more covered, or the accessory sits differently. Avoid labeling an option correct or defective.
  2. Write suggestions as optional next steps: try the other part once more in daylight, or choose the lower-maintenance option for a busy day.
  3. If you use the tool during the comparison, keep the quality status and method version beside each reading. It does not establish hair type, skin condition, color season or how others will respond.

Future API reports, if enabled after validation, will have their own stated scope. The free tool currently provides local geometric readings, not a personalized stylist consultation or a generated hairstyle preview. You can already use the full analysis to inspect the measurement definitions before deciding whether any number helps your experiment.
